Radiofrequency microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to rejuvenate the skin by causing controlled injury to the skin with fine, sterile needles. Before your treatment:

- Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning (including sunbeds) two weeks prior to treatment.

- Avoid using acid/chemical-based products on the area one week prior to treatments (for example glycolic/salicylic acid and retinols).

- Inform your therapist of any changes in medication/health.

- Inform your therapist if you have a history or flare up of cold sores as this can impair treatment. Anti-viral medication may be taken if necessary.

- If topical anaesthetic is to be used, please apply 30-45 minutes before your appointment.

After your treatment:

- The treated area can be red or pink in colour after the treatment and this may last for a few hours. It will also feel warm to the touch during this time.

- Bruising may occasionally occur after treatment in delicate areas, especially around the eyes. This can last up to 5 days but should resolve with no long-term effects.

- A high protection sunscreen should be used after treatments and sun exposure should be avoided for 4-weeks post-treatment.

- Make-up can be applied after 12 hours.

- Immediately after treatment, contraction of collagen fibres improves the skin’s elasticity, so your skin will appear firmer. This can be temporary as the production of new collagen takes time, and best results are seen after your course of treatments (continuing for 3 to 6 months after the end of your course).

- Avoid alcohol and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

- Avoid heat treatments such as hot baths/showers, saunas, steam rooms.

- Waxing, tweezing and depilatory creams can be resumed 7 days post treatment.

- A non-exfoliating cleanser and light moisturiser can be used on the day of treatment and for 1-2 days afterwards. By around day 3 normal skin routine can be resumed, however, avoid acid/chemical-based products for at least 7 days post treatment.

- Further laser treatment, chemical peels, Botox/Dermal fillers can be resumed 2 weeks post treatment.

- Blistering is very unusual, but if it does occur, contact the clinic immediately for further advice. Keep the area clean and dry and allow to heal naturally. Do not use any lotions or creams on open skin as this may increase the risk of infection. Grazing or flaking can sometimes occur following treatment, so it’s important you DO NOT pick grazes or blisters – as this may increase the chance of a scar occurring. Once the skin has healed, a high protection sunscreen should be used daily for 12 months to prevent pigmentation changes to the skin.

What is Lipofirm PRO?

LipoFirm Pro is non invasive and the latest facial and body contouring device. It reduces fat, tightens skin, tones muscle and can help reduce cellulite, all at the same time.
How does Lipofirm work?

LipoFirm Pro utilizes Radio Frequency (RF) and Dynamic Muscle Activation (DMA) to tighten and lift the muscles on the face, stimulate collagen production, and improve skin texture. The procedure uses principles of tissue oxygenation and detoxification to maximize skin tightening effects, fat reduction, and lymphatic drainage. It can help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness around the eyes, and improve the appearance of jowls with a tighter jawline.
Are there any side effects?

After treatment the area can feel a little achy, as its the equivalent of doing hundreds of facial exercises! These side effects are temporary and typically go away within a few hours of the session. Naturally settings are adjusted for comfort and results.
How many sessions do I need?

We always recommend a course of 8 which are spaced about 1 week apart. For optimum results we recommend treatments are started at least 3 months before a big event or holiday. Although, visible results can be witnessed within the first few sessions. We add LipoFirm to all of our rejuvenating skin courses for and always recommend it is continued at least once a month, to keep muscles tight.
Do you lose weight from LipoFirm?

Lipofirm Pro used on the body, is not a weight loss solution. It breaks down fat, exercises muscles, tightens skin and can reduce the appearance of cellulite in the areas that are being treated. It is designed for facial and body sculpting and skin tightening and is more popularly known as a body contouring treatment. It is wise to have realistic expectations from the process and understand that while LipoFirm can reduce the appearance of cellulite and fat, a good diet and regular exercise cannot be replaced by it.
How long does it last?

Results from Lipofirm Pro can be seen for up to 9-12 months after a course depending on lifestyle, and area’s being treated. As each person’s metabolism and collagen production are unique, the length of the results will vary from person to person. But after a course we always recommend a top up session every now then, ranging from once a month to 3 or 4 a year, to maintain optimum results for longer.
Does LipoFirm actually work?

What does the treatment involve?

Glycerol is applied to the area being treated, to allow the hand piece to glide effortlessly across the skin. The LipoFirm hand piece feels warm on the skin from the Radio Frequency, and stimulates the muscles to contract, which can be felt as pulses, during the treatment. Both Radio Frequency settings and the DMA microcurrent can be increased and decreased for your comfort and results.
