GIVE SKIN IT'S SNAP BACK
HIFU /
Give skin back it's snap with High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), also known as the ‘non-surgical face lift’ or the ‘lunchtime face lift’ and has become one of the most sought-after lifting, firming, and tightening treatments for the face. A HIFU facial tightens and firms up loose skin to counteract the effects of both time and gravity so that we can sculpt your skin.

Before your treatment:
- Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning (including sunbeds) two weeks prior to treatment.
- Avoid using acid/chemical-based products on the area one week prior to treatments (for example glycolic/salicylic acid and retinols).
- Inform your therapist of any changes in medication/health.
- Inform your therapist if you have a history or flare up of cold sores as this can impair treatment. Anti-viral medication may be taken if necessary.
- If topical anaesthetic is to be used, please apply 30-45 minutes before your appointment.
After your treatment:
- The treated area can be red or pink in colour after the treatment and this may last for a few hours. It will also feel warm to the touch during this time.
- Bruising may occasionally occur after treatment in delicate areas, especially around the eyes. This can last up to 5 days but should resolve with no long-term effects.
- A high protection sunscreen should be used after treatments and sun exposure should be avoided for 4-weeks post-treatment.
- Make-up can be applied after 12 hours.
- Immediately after treatment, contraction of collagen fibres improves the skin’s elasticity, so your skin will appear firmer. This can be temporary as the production of new collagen takes time, and best results are seen after your course of treatments (continuing for 3 to 6 months after the end of your course).
- Avoid alcohol and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
- Avoid heat treatments such as hot baths/showers, saunas, steam rooms.
- Waxing, tweezing and depilatory creams can be resumed 7 days post treatment.
- A non-exfoliating cleanser and light moisturiser can be used on the day of treatment and for 1-2 days afterwards. By around day 3 normal skin routine can be resumed, however, avoid acid/chemical-based products for at least 7 days post treatment.
- Further laser treatment, chemical peels, Botox/Dermal fillers can be resumed 2 weeks post treatment.
- Blistering is very unusual, but if it does occur, contact the clinic immediately for further advice. Keep the area clean and dry and allow to heal naturally. Do not use any lotions or creams on open skin as this may increase the risk of infection. Grazing or flaking can sometimes occur following treatment, so it’s important you DO NOT pick grazes or blisters – as this may increase the chance of a scar occurring. Once the skin has healed, a high protection sunscreen should be used daily for 12 months to prevent pigmentation changes to the skin.
Full aftercare will be provided by your therapist upon completion of your treatment. Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a relatively recent cosmetic treatment for contouring the face and body. This non-invasive treatment tightens the skin, stimulates collagen and contours jawlines; for a painless alternative to face lifts.
HIFU uses ultrasound energy to form new collagen and elastin, the results are firmer, tighter skin, with the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Known for giving skin it's 'Snap back'.
These facials compliment all our rejuvenation courses.
This non-surgical facelift works on the SMAS layer deep below the skin, which is the area surgeons tighten for face and neck lifts. Rather than surgery, the Focus Dual is one of the few treatments able to harness ultrasound technology to radiate energy to the SMAS layer to tighten, lift and plump the skin.
The result is a natural lift with virtually no downtime, dramatically increasing new collagen and elastin for more youthful, contoured skin.
Treatments are carried out every 8 to 12 weeks on the face and weeks 4 weeks on the body contouring and typically between 1 and 3 treatments are recommended for the best results.
We always recommend a maintenance top-up session, usually only once or twice a year.
Due to the non-invasive nature of HIFU treatments, there is little to no downtime. You may experience a little redness and tenderness on the skin following the treatment, but these symptoms are mild and temporary, and you will be able to return to your normal activities straight away, and there are no special recovery measures needed.
This is why HIFU has earned the name “lunchtime facelift”
Our Focus Dual machine uses the latest technology, causing no pain, no downtime and requires no pain relief. Pain at the end of the treatment is rare, although some people may feel a very slight sensitivity around the jawline area which reduces over a day or so. HIFU is a safe treatment because the ultrasound energy targets only the tissue that is present deep below the surface of your skin. You can be assured that HIFU will not cause any damage to the upper layers of the skin, in fact it does the opposite and rejuvenates the skin.
Yes, our medical HIFU machine will reduce fat on the jaw and body, whilst also tightening the skin. Excess facial fats sag with age, creating jowls, double chin, 'turkey' necks etc. Chubby cheeks can also be significantly reduced using HIFU.
As a rule we only target the fat layer when necessary, ideally we ensure fat is preserved on the face.
Please avoid injectables or fillers for 7 days post HIFU treatment.
We advise waiting 4 weeks after injectables or filler, before your HIFU treatment to give the injectables time to settle into the area worked on.
We don't perform HIFU or RF over fillers but they can prolong the life of injectables.
HIFU delivers more precise and more intense fractional ultrasound energy reaching 65 degrees.
RF only reaches around 40 degrees so there is less thermal heat to stimulate new collagen.
HIFU also goes deep into the dermal layer which actually reaches the SMAS layer. The SMAS layer is the collagen sheet of tissue which a plastic surgeon would lift and tighten on a facelift.
Although Radio Frequency does not go as deep, both treatments have their advantages, which is why we require an initial skin consultation prior to your first treatment, so we can create a tailored skin journey, to achieve the best results for you and your skin.
