Sun and age spots

Conditions which usually appear in later years. These are all caused by an excess amount of melanin, the pigment which determines our hair and skin colour.

Melanin absorbs the light energy from Energist VPL™ and heats up quickly, whilst the surrounding skin remains cool. The heat means that the particles of melanin break up into smaller particles, that are then removed by the body's natural waste processes, leaving skin clear and smooth.

Thread veins, spider naevi and cherry spots

Conditions where small veins become visible on the skin's surface.

Light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels that make up these imperfections. This absorbtion process breaks down the vessel walls. Effective Energist VPL™ treatments allow the body to recognise these broken vessels as waste and remove them naturally.

Wrinkles and fine lines

Collagen is the substance in our bodies that keeps our skin looking youthful and smooth. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen, resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The light from Energist VPL™ stimulates cells in the body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. The new collagen moves outwards to the skin's surface resulting in a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

Each treatment that combines a Glycolic Peel Facial is followed 2 weeks later by the VPL treatment.

Acne scarring

Acne is caused by excess sebum, an oil naturally produced by the body which clogs up pores and causes irritation. Over long periods of this can also result in acne scarring.

Energist VPL™ improves both active acne and acne scarring by destroyig the bacteria that causes the irritation. Acne is healed significantly following a course of treatments and skin texture and tone is improved as the Energist VPL™ initiates further collagen production.

The treatment

After a full consultation a comprehensive treatment programme will be devised to best treat your condition.

The area to be treated will be throughly cleansed and a cooling gel is applied to ensure that the light is used effectively and maxiumum results. The Energist VPL™ applicator will be placed onto your skin and flashed in a series of shots to treat the area.

Treatments are reviewed continuously to assess their effectiveness and settings are adjusted to ensure the best results are achieved.
